ENHANCED ALERT for Drought in the Ardèche, Beaume, and Chassezac Basins

Despite a rainy spring this year, which benefited our rivers and underground resources, the intense heat at the start of this summer has caused the usual and regular decrease in water flow.
After a DROUGHT ALERT level for all the waterways in our watershed in mid-July, a new decree issued on August 2nd has escalated the entire watershed to an ENHANCED ALERT level (except for the Lozère and Gard parts of our waterways, which remain under VIGILANCE).

Consult the prefectural decree 07

Reminder : From the “enhanced alert” level onward, all direct withdrawals from waterways (pumping, diversion canals, etc.), even if authorized by a water right, are prohibited, regardless of the water use (watering vegetable gardens/sports fields at night, additional filling of pools at night, etc.), except for drinking water.

Restrictions applied to agricultural and industrial uses on the waterways benefiting from low-flow support (Ardèche from Fontaulière to Rhône and lower Chassezac) are specific and remain at the VIGILANCE level.
