Take care during and after rain
Several storms passed through our river basin this automn and spring.
River water levels can rise very high and very fast, so you have to be very vigilant nearby the river and when you move.
To be informed :

The rain is good for nature and the water levels, but it leaches soils, cavities and amenities and can carry contaminated run-off into the river. This can have a temporary local effect on water quality.
For your safety, it is not advisable to swim in the rivers for 24 to 48 hours after rain.
General riverbank tip: take care during and after rain.
- follow the instructions displayed at the beaches,
- especially if they have been closed preventively due to storms,
- and keep an eye on warnings and weather alerts. Do not approach the river during heavy rain,
- as water levels can rise very quickly and currents can be very strong,
- avoid swimming immediately after a storm:
- the water quality may have deteriorated temporarily.
