For your safety<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

protect yourself from the sun and stay hydrated;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

be sure of your swimming ability and that of the people you are with, especially children;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

do not leave your children unsupervised;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

give preference to supervised beaches where the water quality is analysed;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

follow the instructions if a beach is closed: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

pollution is not always visible\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

swim in areas of running water \u2013 do not drink the water, or put anything that has been in the water in your mouth (pebbles, sticks etc.) <\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the river water is not drinking water, and although most algae are harmless to human health, “flocs” of potentially toxic cyanobacteria<\/a> can sometimes accumulate locally in stagnant water and should not be ingested.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

after swimming, take a brief but thorough shower;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

avoid swimming immediately after a storm<\/a>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

the rainwater leaches soils, cavities and amenities and can affect the water quality locally and temporarily.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

keep an eye on the weather forecast: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

even in summer, water levels can rise suddenly and violently!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

do not jump from rocks or bridges:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

the depth of the water is difficult to evaluate and varies over the summer. Jumping from bridges is strictly forbidden.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protecting rivers and nature<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

take all your waste away with you, even if it is biodegradable:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

the river’s digestion is delicate\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

do not stir up the river bottom and avoid making little constructions with pebbles<\/a>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

they disturb aquatic animals, obstruct their movement and create areas of warmer, stagnant water.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

do not disturb snakes in the water:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

they are 100% harmless and 100% protected!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

do not use sun cream unless it is eco-compatible:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

your t-shirt and cap offer excellent sun protection.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

do not make fires:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

lighting a fire runs the risk of triggering a serious wildfire, especially when the conditions are hot and dry.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

do not waste water;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

respect the restrictions if a drought order has been issued<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in Ard\u00e8che, any water you save from the tap is extra water for the river. This is important when you know that the quality of river water depends heavily on water levels.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Respect everyone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

some beaches, although freely accessible, are located on private land: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

respect these private properties and other users, whether they are neighbours, swimmers, walkers, fishers\u2026 (fences, gates, rubbish, noise\u2026)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

be as discreet as possible:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

listen to nature, not your smart speaker\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
