Period of operation, management and updates

The qualite-ardeche-eau.fr website, ” Ardèche` Inf’eau Plage “, is accessible all year round, 24 hours a day, unless maintenance operations require an interruption to site access. The information on bathing water is only administered and updated during the ” official bathing season “, from mid-June to the end of August. Outside this period, the site switches to ” out of season ” mode.

Updates and site administration are carried out by the Etablissement Public Territorial du Bassin Versant de l’Ardèche.

Sources of the data published and responsibility

At the 26 river bathing spots in the Ardèche basin, the sampling points, frequencies, analysis methods, thresholds and management advice are applied in accordance with Directive 2006/7/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 February 2006 concerning the management of bathing water quality and with the specific measures in the ” bathing profile ” of each site, approved by the regional health agency.

The bathing water quality data and information about beach management is published on the “Ardèche Inf’eau Plage” site to make it accessible and easy for river users to understand.

Data source

The data consists of:

– public data from the results of bathing water analyses produced by the Ardèche regional health agency;

– monitoring data on bathing water quality and management decisions by the authorities responsible for the sites (municipal councils or groups of local authorities). An agreement authorises EPTB Ardèche to receive this information, process it and communicate it, including via the “Ardèche Inf’eau Plage” website.

Responsibility

The data is not the property of the Etablissement Public Territorial du Bassin Versant de l’Ardèche. Despite all the efforts taken to improve the reliability, quality and timeliness of the information published on the “Ardèche Inf’eau Plage” website, the EPTB cannot be held liable for any inaccuracies.

In particular, if there are any differences between the information displayed at the beach and the information on the qualite.ardeche-eau.fr website ” Ardèche Inf’eau Plage “, you should prioritise :

– the most recent information about water quality;

– the information displayed and represented at the beach or the lifeguard station about bathing opening and closing. EPTB Ardèche only provides management advice to the managing authorities. They have sole responsibility for managing their bathing areas in the event of degraded quality or any risk or potential danger identified and for displaying correct information to users at the sites.

This responsibility remains the competence of the managing authority and depends on the enforcement powers of the mayor in the municipality concerned.

The site  https://qualite.ardeche-eau.fr/  cannot be held liable in the event of abusive, racist, defamatory or pornographic language on interactive forums. The company also reserves the right to remove any content that is contrary to its values.

Update delay, real time

The frequency of water analyses is set by the regional health agency and the “bathing profile” of each beach.

The analysis method imposed by the regulations in force requires a minimum of 24 hours between the sample being taken from the river and the results being available (the bacteria have to multiply in the incubator before they can be counted).

In addition, there may be a delay in transmission between EPTB Ardèche issuing its management advice, the managing authority taking a decision and then the decision being displayed or applied by the lifeguard, if there is one.

EPTB Ardèche cannot be held liable if an event or a degradation in water quality occurs during these intervals.

However, if you detect an error or information we might have omitted, do not hesitate to report it by email to [email protected].

Accessibility

In accordance with the requirements of Decree no. 2019-768 of 24 July 2019 (published in France’s Official Journal on 25 July 2019), the site was designed to prioritise accessibility. This includes:

– writing content according to the FALC principles (easy to read and understand);
